I analyze brands + culture for fun and for a living 🪐
/ɪˈklektɪk/
A person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.
High Eclecticism is a blog started in 2017 (rebooted in March 2022) powered by unyielding curiosity.
Ideas at intersections, its purpose is to inspire creativity and exploration across a wide variety of interests—sharing with you my insights + adventures tied to technology, art, fashion, culture, and social change.
I analyze brands + culture for fun and for a living 🪐
I’ve worked in Brand Strategy at some of the world’s top creative advertising agencies in Toronto, Canada (Cossette, DDB) and London, UK (J. Walter Thompson, now VML), and have lived, studied, and worked in Vancouver, Germany (at Adidas HQ in wearable tech during the London 2012 Olympics), Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Paris. 🇨🇦🇬🇧🇫🇷🇩🇪🇨🇳🇭🇰
To enrich my thinking and better understand the political undercurrents that shape the private sector, culture, and society, I recently completed a MA in Strategic Communications at King’s College London (KCL) in the Department of War Studies. I shaped my degree around strategic communications, nation branding, popular culture, soft power, and cyber strategy, drawing parallels between international relations and the creative advertising industry, to help bring diverse thinking to the field.
In order for me to do my job well, I try to explore a wide variety of interests to help fuel my thinking.
This blog is a way for me to document what’s on my mind, as it happens, and share it with those who may find it interesting or helpful. Thanks for stopping by.
